I have used the members area on two sites for some years now. I’ve used both standard pages like the profile page, and also custom pages within the Wix members area. It works really well in most aspects. But it still seems hard to entice members to use the social area. I guess it’s hard if they are used to their familiar social networks. Also, I had a publicly visible forum but spammers seem to be too attracted to that, so I made invisible to non members. But that doesn’t help for getting found on search engines.
I have found the members bar and members menu a bit hard to configure. On one site there are a lot of pages for each member, both business (orders, wallet etc.) and social (profile, followers etc.). Some of the issues I got:
-
The members bar seems to jump around on the members profile pages. When I put it in the right position, it seems to soon shift slightly again. It also seems to load slowly.
-
The business pages and social pages are all in the same menu in the members bar on the members profile pages. In that way the menu becomes really long and hard to use.
Could there be another way to organise the member pages? Maybe there could be multiple members menus, or one for business pages and one for social pages? And could the members bar be optional?
I agree also with @enes_06_tr about the wishlist, it would be really good if it was accessible from the API. I have a site with a custom product page for some products, and can’t use the same wishlist on those pages.
