Ability to turn Auto-Dock Off

I’d like to be able to select the docking from the start. Auto-Dock overrides my docking choices. It also changes selected margins, and margin style from a requested % to pixels.

When adding additional elements to a section it moves already placed elements and then resizes them all based on the Auto-Dock defaults. The ability to turn this off would make page building much easier. I feel like I’m fighting with the interface for control of my elements. Changing docking points also resizes and changes the elements crop, because Auto-Dock is trying to override my changes. Sometimes it’s easier to delete the element and start over when an element becomes “Possessed”.

My thinking is, is if I can turn off the Auto-Docking I can place the elements how I’d like them, then dock the points I want docked, and then set the scaling option I want. The Auto-Dock defaults seem to override all designer choices.

I’ll come back with a screen video of what I’m experiencing with more detail.

Hi Rich,

Roni here, from the Editor X Product Team.

Thank you, your feedback is loud and clear. Auto Docking should help you, and not get in the way when you don’t want it to. We understand this, and a solution is actually already in the works.

When a solution is ready and is released, you’ll probably hear about it through this forum, and I hope you’ll find the time to let us know if it works for you or not.

Thanks again, and please do write back with more feedback.

Best,
Roni
