ADA Accessibility.

Seems that the tag needs to have a language attribute added. This is considered a top level error with ADA. Is there a way to add this??? See error below…

Use the LANG attribute to identify the language of the page. WCAG 2.0 A 3.1.1 Section 508 (2017) A 3.1.1 Matterhorn 1.02 11-001 1 pagesIn HTML add a LANG attribute to the HTML tag, and in PDF set the language using Document Properties in Acrobat. This allows screen readers to pronounce words correctly. This page sends a Content-Language HTTP header, which is not a substitute for the HTML lang attribute, and is ignored by screen readers. Current advice from the W3 says " Use language attributes rather than HTTP to declare the default language for text processing " https://www.gotequity.net/

Hi,

My name is Nir and i’m leading Accessibility in Wix.
We are aware and working to fix the lang attribute. You can expected to see it in the very near future.
For any further accessibility advice you can check out this article:

Thanks,

Nir

Can you give me an ETA on this? I am not sure if you are aware but there are quite a few ADA lawsuits going on, and unfortunately I am not able to publish the sites we built with you until this issue, and others that I have posted get resolved…

Thank you

Hi Ihsochia,

We definitely aware.

We are currently working on lang attribute (and a few more things).
Unfortunately we won’t be able to provide you with a time frame to when these improvements are available more then i already gave.

Nir

Is there someway I can stay in the loop of when these changes are made then? We have more than a few sites we have built with you and I would like to publish them but I cannot until this is fixed.

Can I get notified somehow when these changes are completed or is there someplace I can go to look at current builds / improvements to the wix web builder???

I’ll update here as soon as it is ready

Perfect. Thank you.

Hi,

Check your html tag. Let me know if you see language.

Thanks and a Happy new year!
