Adapte Members views to the roles

Hi dear community,
In my member directory I plan to build a specific segmentation per industry/profession.
Like the blog widgets - allowing to display only blog post from specific category - I wish I could change the parameters of the members widget to display only a part of the directory to different segment of the members. Is it possible ?

To be more specific: I want to create a specific page for each industry/profession and to include in each of them a partial view of the members directory. It seems that the members widget is not allowing me to pre-filter the members according to a specific criteria or role. Do you have any suggestion for me?

Hello.

I would suggest that you do the following:

• Create roles as instructed here: Creating Member Roles ;

• Add members to their respective roles as instructed here: Managing Your Member Roles

• Create Members-only pages and a pply page permissions to your site based on user roles.

• Add content from the blog collection to the pages and filter according to blog categories .

• Create a backend function to get the role of currently logged-in user.

• Import your backend function to get currently logged-in user role in frontend and use it in your front end code to redirect users to their respective pages according to their roles.

Few precisions

• It means that I must learn to code, right?

• I am not sure that your solution will help me to display, on the member only page, an automatic filtered view of the members directory - allowing to person from a specific role access only to their relatives from the same role.

Maybe my only option is to add on each industry related page a tab of the members with the specific role without using the members widget?
Any ideas?
