Does anyone know if it is possible to add the product description on the category page?
Now I only see the name of the product and the price etc.

Did you ever find the solution to this? I’m having the same issue but I can’t find any answers
You can do so with the CMS and display anything you like from the product information: CMS: Displaying Your Wix Stores Products on a Dynamic List Page | Help Center | Wix.com
Was it only the product description that you wanted to showcase on the category page?
but this would mean I would have to completely recreate the category page right? I wouldn’t be able to use the one that Wix had already provided
I believe that would be the only way; I checked the site extensions and you can expand on the category page but here are slots where you can add plugins.
Generally code can’t add to widgets though the platform has been opening up and expanding the functionality of the applications.
