I currently have 5 tabs on my horizontal menu. When I try to add another it deletes my home page (photo, text, etc). Any ideas?

Please provide a screenshot on the menu och even better a small video. Download JING for PC or Mac, it will get you faster responses in here. The more you give the more you get faster.
Adding a new page in the menu can’t delete the home page unless you set the new page as HOME PAGE. But please describe more what you do and what happens and how it looks.
All content disappears from the home page after adding a new page. This happens each time on every site I’ve made - works fine up to 5 pages, the 6th page makes this happen every time
I don’t think this is actually a Wix Code question so you should probably contact support@wix.com. But from what I see in your screenshot you have added a New Page and when you do that the Wix Editor goes to the new page asap so I am not sure you lost the home page but I think that the editor moved it’s focus to the new page.
