Question:
Why did my original website’s data (over 100GB) disappear after I duplicated the site and upgraded the storage? I’ve been trying to get support from WIX since October 27, but after several follow-ups and emails, I still have not received a satisfactory response or resolution to recover the lost data.
Product:
WIS website duplication and storage feature.
What are you trying to achieve:
I duplicated my original website, which had over 100GB of data, to a new site. After duplicating the site, I discovered that I could no longer upload new content due to storage limitations. To resolve this, I upgraded the storage on October 23. However, I noticed on October 27 that the original website’s data, which should have been 100GB, had vanished. Both the original (Site A) and duplicated (Site B) sites should reflect the same storage size and content, but now Site A only shows around 1GB.
What have you already tried:
• I contacted WIX support on October 27, and the representative said they would escalate this issue internally. Request 237356111
• Initially, I received responses that were not relevant to my issue.
• After a follow-up on October 29, I was told they would provide an answer, but I continued waiting without any updates.
• I sent another follow-up email on November 4, but I still have not received any response.
Additional information:
The loss of this data is critical and has impacted my experience with WIX. Although my site’s basic functionality remains unaffected, all original files and content stored within the site have disappeared, which is both concerning and frustrating. This incident has severely affected my confidence in WIX’s support and data handling practices.
