Android Wix App Feature Request: Generate Customer Payment QR Directly from POS Checkout

I use Wix Point of Sale in the Wix app on an Android phone to sell Wix Stores products in person at physical markets in New Zealand.

I am specifically requesting this functionality for the Android Wix app / Android mobile POS.

I would like Wix to add a customer-facing QR checkout option directly to the existing Android POS checkout flow.

The workflow I need is:

On my Android phone, open Wix Point of Sale.

Search for a Wix Stores product or scan its barcode using the phone.

Add one or multiple products to the POS cart.

Tap Charge.

On the existing Payment Method screen, alongside Cash, Card and Manual Card Entry, have a new option such as “Pay by QR”.

Tapping Pay by QR immediately generates a QR code for that exact POS cart/order, including the correct products, quantities and total.

I show my Android phone screen to the customer.

The customer scans the QR code using their own phone.

The customer sees the order and total, enters their own name and email/contact details, and completes payment using the online payment methods enabled on my Wix site.

Once payment succeeds, my Android POS automatically receives confirmation, marks the order as paid and completes the normal Wix Stores inventory update.

The merchant should not need to add or select a customer before generating the QR code. Customer information should be collected from the customer on their own device after they scan the QR.

For a busy physical market, the merchant workflow needs to be extremely simple:

Scan/search products → Add to cart → Charge → Pay by QR → Show QR

The customer workflow should simply be:

Scan QR → Confirm order → Enter own details → Pay

I am aware that Wix has Pay Links and QR functionality elsewhere in the platform. Creating a separate Pay Link is not a suitable workaround. It adds extra steps and separates the payment from the active POS cart/order.

I specifically need the QR to be generated directly from the current Wix POS cart in the Android app, so the products, inventory, order total and payment remain part of the same Wix Stores transaction.

This is particularly important for Wix merchants in New Zealand using Android, where Wix’s in-person payment options differ from those available in some other countries.

Please pass this to the Wix Mobile POS / Wix Stores Android product team as a feature request. I am specifically requesting QR checkout generated from an active POS cart in the Android Wix app, not a standalone QR code or manually created Pay Link.

Two things worth knowing, and the second one matters more than the feature
request.

This forum doesn’t reach the product team. Nobody here can pass it on. Wix
takes feature requests through the roadmap page at wix.com/updates — there’s a
Request a Feature option on it. Post it there or it goes nowhere. Worth doing,
because your write-up is unusually specific and that’s the kind that gets read.

The bigger issue: Wix’s own mobile POS only accepts card payments in the US, UK
and Canada. Of the third-party options Wix supports, Square covers the US,
Canada, Australia, Ireland and Japan, and SumUp covers Europe. None of them
cover New Zealand.

So this isn’t a convenience gap in your flow. You have no supported in-person
card path on Wix POS in NZ at all, which is exactly why you’re reaching for QR.
Say that in the request — “there is no supported in-person card method in my
country” is a much stronger case than “QR would be more convenient”, and it’s
true.

Your read on Pay Links is right, by the way. They’re a manual amount — they
don’t attach to a POS cart or Wix Stores products, so you lose the order
record, the inventory decrement and the line items. That’s a real objection,
not you being fussy.

One thing you may not know though: Pay Links already have a QR code built in.
When you create one there’s a Show QR Code option that displays a scannable
code for the customer. So the customer-facing half of your flow exists today —
scan, see amount, pay on their own phone. What’s missing is the half you
actually care about, the link back to the cart and inventory.

That’s a workable stopgap for a market day if you’re reconciling stock by hand
afterwards. It is not a fix, and I wouldn’t plan around the feature request
landing.

I’ve actually built a workaround for this using Base44 and the Wix APIs.

My app works as a simple market POS connected to my Wix Stores catalogue. I can scan/select multiple products and build a cart, then the app creates a Wix Pay Link for that specific cart and displays it as a QR code.

The customer scans the QR code on their own phone and pays through Wix’s hosted checkout. Because the Pay Link is created using the actual Wix catalogue products rather than just a manually entered dollar amount, Wix creates the order with the correct line items and automatically deducts the stock from inventory.

The app then checks that specific Pay Link for payment, so I can see when the customer has paid and complete the sale.

So effectively I’ve built the missing NZ market-POS layer myself: Wix catalogue → multi-item cart → QR code → customer pays on their phone → Wix order created → inventory updated.

Nice build — that’s exactly the right shape for this. Worth adding for anyone else who lands on this thread: what you did isn’t only achievable as a custom workaround, Wix’s Payment Links API has a documented path for it. An ECOM-type link can carry a real Stores catalogItemId as a CATALOG line item, and there’s an Initiate Payment method built specifically for a Wix user checking out a customer in person — so this is a supported pattern, not a hack.

One thing I haven’t confirmed: whether a single link supports multiple catalog items (the schema field is plural, but Wix’s own sample only shows one), so worth testing before relying on a full multi-item cart via a single link.
