I’ve been experiencing this issue for the past month as well. I’ve reached out to support several times without receiving much of a response. It looks like it’s affecting all Wix users using token auth.
To top it off it looks like there’s another issue with the wix-members API too:

Crazy how such a big issue is still not resolved.

hello, I’ve passed this thread along to customer care internally as well, but I have nothing further to report at this time.
Update from support:
“I’m sorry that the issue with the approveByToken function still persists.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an ETA when it will be resolved, however I have requested an update an prioritisation from our developers.”
So every site that uses token approval has been broken for over a month not allowing users and customers to create accounts unless site owners heavily circumvent around the API.
Many site owners are properly unaware this issue is even occurring because there’s no public notice and many are probably putting hours into refactoring their code thinking it’s an issue on their end.

Thanks for posting your update from customer care, we will wait patiently with our fingers crossed and our brows furrowed, while we approve our users and run our automations manually.
I hope that for future Wix updates they will use sandbox systems and scaled deploys as many of us do to avoid this kind of failures when introducing changes.
I’m having the same issue with a custom sign-up form. I can’t believe this has been going on for a month already! It’s having a serious impact on user experience and site registration
I hope they will fix this in 2023
please let them know that it’s the same issue with approveByEmail(), not only approveByToken()
