Attached is a quick-and-dirty example of the kind of thing I’m talking about. I’ve applied a 3x3 grid to the section. The gold container is stretched to fill columns one and two and all the rows (one, two, and three). The image fills the rightmost two columns and only the middle row. I’ve adjusted the grid so it looks more-or-less like your layout.
With this approach, you can control the size and position of your gold container, along with the height of the section that holds it.
