Beta Opened: Privacy Center!

@graphics Hi Del,
Strictly necessary cookies are always placed on the visitor’s device because as their name suggests they are necessary for the site to function. However, for any other type of cookie/script/etc the visitor must provide consent because we have legal basis to place such cookies on their device.

The ICO’s website even writes so themselves here :
" “ Consent should be given by a clear affirmative act … such as by a written statement, including by electronic means, or an oral statement. This could include ticking a box when visiting an internet website, choosing technical settings for information society services or another statement or conduct which clearly indicates in this context the data subject’s acceptance of the proposed processing of his or her personal data. Silence, pre-ticked boxes or inactivity should not therefore constitute consent.

For this reason, we cannot place non-essential cookies on visitors devices, nor supply them with pre-ticked checkboxes in the advanced settings dialog.

I’m here if you have any more questions. I really appreciate your feedback.

I’m trying to add the cookie banner to the site…but I don’t have that option in my editor.

When I click the cookie banner link in the article and try to access it that way I just get taken to a white screen…hmmm

Can anyone help?

Is this beta opened to all beta testers? I don’t seem to have access to it :frowning:

Please read the update in the thread.

UPDATE: Banners will no longer be visible - that was also closed. We are working hard to get this back up!

UPDATE: Open again!

Yes it is.

Oh yeah !!! You finally did it !!!

Congratulations and Thank you very much to the Wix Team !!

Hi @raeanne , the cookie banner is available through the Wix privacy center, in your Dashboard / Business Manager.

Note: you must join the product betas (found in your partners dashboard) before the privacy center will be available for you.

Whoop whoop Thanks guys

Hey @graphics the fonts issue should be fixed now!

@abdulaziz The fonts issue should be solved now!

@karenc nothing changed on my end. Chrome Dev Tools is still showing the font family in the code as “HelveticaNeue”, which isn’t a standard windows font. Ideally it should inherit from the body text or default to " Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"

Hey guys, we took a look at the banner and found following points (mail from my coder)

I don’t see one - the page loads forever and Firefox says “blocked” for several files (FF enhanced tracking protection is on by default and blocks things. - the crest on the left in the address line) -

The cookie thing is displayed after almost a minute (screenshot 2 - see times in the “Finish” and “Load” section in the lower right corner)

We hope, this feedback helps…

Another question: and how can the user subsequently change/revoke the cookie consent? There is no link to reopen the process?

This is important feedback, thanks Marie!

Can you provide more details? Such as what operating system (MacOS / Windows/ something else?) he‘s using?

excellent question, Marie.
Visitors can clear their browser cookies for this website and then the banner will reappear.

@karenc Hi Karen, thanks for your response. I did this and it doesnt appear again (Google Chrome tested on MAC). I am not sure if this is okay that way, I think the most people don´t know this and there should be a way how the can access the settings again without deleting the cookies.

can you share exactly how you deleted the cookies for the site so we can reproduce and solve the issue?

@karenc Hey Karen, sorry, I think this was my fault, I tried it on Safari now and it worked, I didn´t want to do it on Chrome, since this would be much work for me, because I am working on Chrome and I´m logged in to so many sites. I just deleted the Cache in Chrome, so please excuse me. I think it works fine.
