BETA UNLOCKED: New Media Manager!

@let-s-start-design If she was a contributor for that site before you got migrated to the new media manager the files migrated to ‘Site files’ were files uploaded to old site media (originally shared).

As the new media manager is site based there is no ‘profile’ context. The files can be deleted from the media manager without impacting other sites.

Hi there!

I am hoping for some guidance on how to fix a possible glitch. Everything has been working beautifully. However, awhile back I was uploading some video files… and this one video file uploaded but still looks like it’s processing… (see attached video). It’s literally been weeks.

More problematic is the option to delete is not available (see attached screenshot - as you can see the only options available are 1. Add to favorites 2. Preview 3. Hide Info, no Delete option; also, cannot add to page, I imagine since it’s still “processing”)

Also, at some point Wix Support copied ALL my files into ALL my site folders (long story, but the larger point being), so now this one video file is sitting there spinning in all my site files folders (across multiple sites) and I can’t seem to delete it.

Some help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Much Thanks!

Awesome, thanks @aurora !

Yes, I had contacted Wix Support awhile back but it was about a separate issue (to do with Wix Music - long story) that resulted in them transferring all my files across all my sites again (no clue how they did it, but they were unable to undo, so I’ve been going through site by site and deleting un-site related files. Anyways, no biggie, but this one video file I can’t delete.

I will call Wix Support again as you suggested. I originally posted here since the media folder is in Beta, I made the assumption Wix Support couldn’t necessarily help with Beta products. But I will give them a call!

Thanks again! And all the best.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
Thank heavens for this.

I’m not sure I understand -
I have the new media manager on sites I own. (It’s great!!! Really makes a change!)
But on clients sites, where I’m only a contributor - only the old media manager shows up.
What can I do to use the new one from my account, with all sites I work with?
Thanks
Tamara

Hi there,

I have a problem after moving to a new media manager. I uploaded several fonts before moving to a new manager. Now, on all new sites, a new manager is opened by default. However, the font management interface remained unchanged. And now I can not remove my old fonts.

I opened one of my old sites (as a coauthor) and then I was able to remove the font I did not need. However, when I open my new site this font remains unchanged (it has not been deleted).

This makes management difficult and adds confusion to the font directory.

I have one more question. I want to abandon the beta testing of a new media manager and use the old one until all the bugs are fixed. How can i do this?

Hey Eugene, thanks for your feedback and question! @yaaraa , is this possible?

Hey - there is no way to get the old media manager once you got the new one. Regarding the fonts issue, i’m checking it with the editor guys as I’m not sure it’s related to the new media manager.

NOT GOOD. I had 40 folders for pictures and hundres of pictures in the in old gallery. I had gategorized all. Now all gategories has gone in new one and it is impossible to find a picture what I am lookin for. What to do? I have now lot of problems with my business!!

Hi, you should see in the new media manager all of your old folders under ‘site files’. If this is not the case - you can import your old folders to the site’s media manager in ‘Upload media’ → Wix → ‘All my files’.

Could anyone answer this? How can I use the new manager in my clients sites?

I am surprised that so many people like the nw media Manager. I think its terrible. Every time I have to add a photo I have to select the folder… resort the folder to last dropped and then select. The old version all my folders were on the left but I can see the last dropped immediately. Please change back or fix!

Help! How do I turn off New media manager to get to old file structure!!! I’m in chaos now. Thanks!

I love it to be able to finally sort everything better, it’s just kinda annoying that I have to click through all the folders every time I want to add a new image from the same folder as before. A quick access menu, where for example the last 3 visited folders are shown, would be awesome.

@fordcreatv Agreed.

@let-s-start-design When this has come up in the past, I believe we were told just to delete the photos that do not belong in your client’s account. I’m not saying it’s optimal, but I think that is the direction we were given…

I hope this too. This new Media Manager has give me 1000€ bill already. I have to hire a worker to manage all my folders and pictures.

@yaaraa
What happened to me just now is quite alarming.
I was working on a site of a client from her account. For a week or two now she has the new media manager in her account (she is not an expert, it just happened one day). When I wanted to upload a new image there was a message “welcome to your new media manager” (though it was there already) and after a few moments many files were uploaded to her manager - ALL FOLDERS OF ALL SITES I’VE MADE FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS. This is now called “your site media” on an account that is NOT MINE. Yes, her site was once in my account and I’ve transferred it, but now it supposed to be a totally different account!
Are all my clients going to get all my media files as part of the new media manager?
This is SO wrong.
Please check this ASAP
Thanks
Tamara

Tamara did you get some kind of support or resolution on this? I’ve just notice this issue an yes it is alarming to say the least! Phone support does not seem to recognise this as an issue? I’d love to hear your work around
