Calculation of visitor traffic with refusal of cookies ?

Hello

Despite the explanations in the Wix support and docs I can’t seem to get a clear answer.

With the cookie directive and the GDPR a cookie banner is mandatory or not depending on the legislation.

In the context of a refusal by the end visitor on cookies, this implies that the visitor will not be tracked. But since this visit is anonymous, does Wix count this anonymous visit in the reports?

I hope so, because in the end nothing prohibits counting the visitor as long as the latter is not identifiable

So Wix what is your answer?
Thx
Denis

Hello Denis,

I have confirmed with the Analytics team that we can not track unless the visitor accepts the cookies. I am sorry about the confusion prior, but I am happy to have clarified with the team directly.

This feature is called Cookieless Tracking and not a feature within Wix Analytics, however I do understand the importance of keeping track of your visitors your feedback is greatly appreciated as we are always working to update and improve our products. #WixAnalytics

Hello @randya
There is in my opinion a difference between “anonymous counting” and “tracking”.
Isn’t it simply possible to count +1 during a visit by a visitor? Here the objective is not to do tracking but to count, because otherwise we will never be able to make a comparison with N-1 and our other KPIs :frowning:

I don’t see why Wix can’t do this:

With regard to the CNIL, the term “tracking” is clearly explicit, different from the term “audience measurement”.
