I can’t disable the submit button and when I set a link to trigger a lightbox, the button will not pop it up. I added another plain button, linked it to the lightbox and it worked fine. I’ve not had any issues with any of the other controls on my site, just the submit button. Anybody have any clues?

If you don’t use a submit button and use just a normal button like you have, then you can easily just link the button through the Editor settings itself.

Also, make sure that your lightbox settings are all setup correctly too.

Thank you givemeawhiskey, as usual, for your sage advice. I got it to work, but was not happy with the look & feel, and following a chain through the links you provided I saw a solution that involved covering the Paypal button until Submit was clicked then …hide() the cover.
