Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the cursor appearance with CSS?

It is probably likely through coding, although it is dependent on whether Wix will support it through tracking and analytics or with code on everypage as you won’t be able to use the site code tab. However you’ll have to research and find that out yourself.
Wix does not allow access to the DOM so this is not possible.

Difficult to say. Prohibiting access to the DOM prevents the user from breaking things - and therefore makes life much easier for support personnel. 
It also makes life easier for the site owner.
Perhaps “gated” access to the DOM could be provided if the technical issues and difficulties could be properly addressed.
Let’s hope… (and the support personnel’s life won’t be easy anyway, no matter what. I’m sure it’s not easy now. Users will always break things).

Don’t worry, Wix breaks things too.
Wouldn’t want to imagine the huge influx of questions and complaints heading Wix 's way if they allowed anybody and everybody to have access to the DOM:see_no_evil:
You know what people are like, 100% guaranteed they see something new and/or they have access to the Model and they will go and have a fiddle with it and then muck it up and complain to Wix and expect them to sort it all out for them.
