Chat Site Completely from Code?

This may seem like an ambitious project but, is it possible to make a chat/ messaging website completely from code? Some things we want to make (if this is possible) are:

  1. Group Chats (aka Rooms (more that 2 people)

  2. Peer to peer chats (with file attachments, links, emojis, etc.)

  3. A way to show people you messaged recently

We know all of these features are in the Wix Chat app, but we want to make our website from scratch (and also have the messages on the page itself instead of on a mini chat bubble thing). And we’ll need some help on what the DB(s) will look like and an outline of the code.

If this is impossible, please let us know. We can work with the regular Wix Chat app.
