Though I appreciate the number of options for people to log in (or rather create an account…) when on the Spaces app it would be useful for site owners to be able to limit which log in options are available and/or if Spaces users can only log in to an account that they’ve created on our website initially.
The reason I bring this up is, I guess like a lot of users, most people that use the Spaces app as customers likely first have a member account/contact that they created through the actual website first. But I am finding that when we invite people to join the Spaces app, the app allows them to log in/create a secondary account without meaning to, even though they already have one which is the one they should be logging into. Example:
- Catherine created her account on our website using a Gmail address through a CUstom Member Signup form and books sessions there as well as purchases pricing plans, etc.
- Catherine eventually gets an email reminder ( which indicates that she can log in to her existing email/account ) that tells her about using the Spaces app.
- Catherine selects the Apple log in option which creates her a 2nd account with her Apple login that has none of the information in her Gmail account.
The issues:
A) Users should not be able to “log in” to an account using an email address or log in option not already existing in the system. If they’re allowed to create an account using another email, then it should be clear to them that they are creating an account, rather than logging in to an existing one.
B) Users end up creating additional accounts that hold no information from their existing account which frustrates them, us and results in them giving up on using the app.
