I need to create a collection of collection sets on WIX Studio…

My goal is to create nested collections sets so I can create a website that has branched pages based on relevance to the audience that visits my site. The collections feature is clearly the way to go, but I need to also be able to nest collection sets…

For example:

What Brings You Here?
Work
Service Industry
Website Design
Podcast Production
Manufacturing Industry
Website Design
Podcast Production

I want each lowest tier to have similar designs and easily swap or update content, thus it seems Collections is the way…

But currently, it seems collections only groups 1 level deep:
Example:

> Course
> Class

And the How To / Tutorials don’t provide any examples of how to create a collection of collections…

Help?

You can add a reference field(you will find it in the field of CMS collection) in your nested collection and link it to your main collection. Similar to how the Wix blog and store collection works(with tags and categories added as reference). You can also filter the data from collections using the reference fields.

Can you ask it to provide those “creative workarounds” lol

I have just completed (couple of days ago) doing something using some Multi reference fields all in a parent cms. The references are from entries in other cms which are independently updated in a couple of Dashboard pages and which I access via the parent cms to create a dynamic repeater else where. This is all done by Velo code.

I was going to suggest doing similar thing but, actually just asked ChatGPT if it understood what you want and would it work for you. The answer is it thinks so but on further questioning on its scalability, it being dynamic and flexible it also suggested looking at all of the options

**Multi-Reference Fields** ,
**Parent-Child Relationships** ,
**Junction Collections**

I the also suggest tags, which it agrees could work. I then asked again saying looking at the original goal and another instance of CHatGPT’s response

> In Wix Studio, while the native collections system allows for grouping collections in a single-level hierarchy (like grouping “Course” and “Class” together), nesting collection sets (collections within collections) directly isn’t supported by default. However, you can still achieve this goal with some creative workarounds using relationships and dynamic pages.

What are the work arounds.

It literally ran of the approaches above starting with the Multi ref field .

Honestly not sure this is fully helpful and sorry if it just confuses more. But think its work asking about them to see which fits your goal.
