I’ve read a lot of different posts about the add to cart function on custom store dynamic pages and setting up “wholesale” or offering discounts to certain members via dynamic pages and so on…
But I’m seeing a possible issue (or it’s just me) .
What happens when they go to checkout and for whatever reason they click on the product in their cart via the checkout page…it will take them to the “original” product page which can be shared or link copied and shared. Then anyone who goes to the link will be able to see the discounted/free product that should only be seen by certain members…
Example: I have a website where I sell templates (i.e - pptx & psd) , but I also offer a membership to where they get access to a “vault” and can download any of the templates during the duration of their membership.
I currently have it set-up as a dynamic page that looks like the product page, but with a download button that links to the download via database (which works and is nice) , but I wish I could keep track of each download (maybe this is possible?) .
I have another set-up (non-accessible to the public currently) where I have a dynamic page that looks just like the product page and is connected to a set of duplicate products ($0 for members) . It has the add to cart function and works great (I’d be able to track downloads) , but if you click on the product product in the cart at checkout it is going to take you to the original product page and not the dynamic page I have set up with member only access, which would be okay, but what happens if they don’t realize it and accidentally share the product via Pinterest or something, then anyone who goes to the link can add it to the cart because it’s the original product page and I can’t block that to members only because I still need to sell my other products…
