Creating Variable Color Overlays on Repeaters

I’m trying to create a certain effect for a repeater on my site. The repeater is set up as a 3 x 3 grid with images, brief descriptions of articles, and links to the full texts of the articles. I am trying to implement a feature in which the image for an item in the repeater has one of three different colors fade in over said image when the user mouses over any part of the item in the repeater. Ideally different items in the repeater will have different colors fade in over the images.

I am open to a setup that has individual buttons(boxes), as hit triggers, and am comfortable dipping my toes into Corvid if need be. I’ve been experimenting a bit but quickly found myself out of my depth.

You can do it as shown in this Wix tutorial, however remember that with a repeater, whatever you do in one then it will copy it in all of the others displayed on your page.

Or you can try and see if this one works for you.
