Dropdown Disappears on Live Site with Sticky Header

Question:
Why does my dropdown menu under a sticky header disappear too quickly on the live site (not in preview), making it impossible to hover and click submenu items?

Product:
Wix Studio Editor

I want my top navigation to include a dropdown under the “Work” menu item that users can hover over to access subpages like “Branding”, “Creative”, etc. I recently made the header sticky so it stays visible when scrolling. In Preview mode everything works fine, but once published live, the dropdown disappears instantly when hovering — I can’t move the mouse down fast enough to click any subpages.

What have I already tried:

  • Reduced “Space above container” in the dropdown settings to 0px
  • Checked the structure in the Layers panel — my menu is nested inside the sticky header container
  • Verified that nothing changed in the menu or dropdown settings since it was working before
  • I haven’t added custom code
  • Noticed this issue only appeared after making the header sticky

Additional information:
Dropdown items are created using the default Wix menu (not a custom hover box or manual interaction). In the Editor’s Layers Panel, the dropdown doesn’t appear, so I’m not sure if it’s technically outside the sticky header container or affected by z-index/overflow. I’d like to keep using the default menu setup if possible.

Are you able to share a link to the site it’s happening on?

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply and for offering to help! :folded_hands:
The issue actually happened last night, but when I logged in again this morning, the dropdown is displaying and behaving normally on the live site again.

I’m not sure what changed, but I’m glad it’s resolved for now. I’ll keep an eye on it and follow up if it happens again.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!
