I love the features we have to customize coupons. However, I’d like to add a coupon for my new customers only - $5 off their next purchase of $20 or more. I want to offer this option as an ongoing but temporary promotional item. I will be including an insert with the coupon code when I ship their first order, and I would like to set it up so that the one time use coupon expires 60 days after their original purchase date. Since customers order on different days, the expiration date would need to be different for each customer.
To accomplish this for each new order, I would need the ability to add the coupon code to the specific customer’s information on the day they make their initial purchase, and set an end date for 60 days later so that the coupon becomes void after that time. A kind of set it and forget it, if you know what I mean. That way, I don’t have to worry about constantly checking to see if my customer’s coupons have expired when they place orders or if they are trying to use them after their individual expiration dates.
It would be great if I could add this feature both to my current member account information, and for repeat customers who choose not to create an account but would still like to place a second order and get the discount. I think adding it as a custom field in the Contact List manager would be the easiest way to do it and keep track of it.
I know it sounds like I’m asking a lot, but I’ve gotten coupons like this based on my own personal purchase dates from numerous merchants, including those that have millions of customers. I really think this would be a great feature to add!
