Please, please, stop trying to help me. I do not want you to apply “Overrides” to the mobile portion of the website. I don’t want you apply some ridiculously bad algorithm to “Scale Proportionally”. Why would I need a text box 2500 pixels wide on a mobile page? It was 300 pixels wide to begin with, but now that it’s on mobile it clearly should be larger than my desktop monitor. Why can’t I make it smaller without you immediately setting it back to 2500 pixels wide?
Why, when I make a new cell on a section, does your builder force it ON TOP of another cell and display them both over the top of each other? With absolutely no way to separate them, of course. Why do I have to individually remove overrides on every single section of the website before I can actually edit the website?
Please, PLEASE, stop “helping” me. Just do what I tell you to do.
I’ve been a Wix user for about 5 years, as a product I think it’s great. I am a big fan. But I do wonder if the developers ever actually use the product they’re developing? The UI for the media manager is terrible. Why does the search function search the entire website no matter what folder you are in? Why does it produce a list that extends off the page rather than down the page? Why do the search results require you to put your mouse over the item to see the name of the item/object? Why is the file system for CMS so horrendously basic? I really can’t create a file system more than one level deep? Why? Why when I add a dataset to the page is it just one long dropdown menu? I have over 100 CMS collections on my website, and it’s not even close to finished yet. I have found that it actually contains a search function, that it doesn’t show you and that it hides behind the dropdown menu? At the very least add a search box.
This post is largely one big moan about a service that I genuinely like, and I can understand why people would dismiss it because of that. But there’s some very basic things that just don’t work very well and don’t seem to be getting fixed.
The media manager and CMS collection system is exactly the same as it was on the basic editor, and it’s not finished.
