Hey!
I’ve recently started my own agency, so have been/am in the situation you are in. Not to sure about where you are within your journey, so this may or may not be helpful.
Here’s a list of the things I have learnt, and the things I have found have helped me:
Take help when it is offered to you . Not necessarily take all of the help that is offered (sometimes its not what you are looking for). I’ve had a friend read through policies/contracts and it has proved helpful, especially for typos that I have missed.
Spend time learning - I’ve subscribed to a few YouTube channels that have really helped me learn, not only from the technical aspect of the site, but also the design side. There is a channel called ‘Flux’. The guy who runs it, has his own web design academy, and whilst he tends to use Webflow, the information is often transferable, and I have found it amazing to learn from. There are a few others which are helpful.
Relearn how to sel l - I’ve bought a book called ‘Gap Selling’ and whilst I am only a few chapters in, I have learnt so much. The biggest thing I have learnt is that you are not selling a service or a product, you are selling a solution to a problem. The customer doesn’t really care to much about what you are able to do, they care about the problem they have and how it can be solved. For example, the problem may be that they are not getting any leads. That is the problem you are solving, and the book is great at explaining it.
Those are just one or two of the things that I have learnt. The biggest thing is not to be afraid to ask for help, and make sure you are doing everything within the law (whether you like it or not).
All the best with your journey, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to pop me a question and I’ll do my best to help
