Greying Out Content

Hi,

On our new site we have paid and unpaid members, I want to stop access to the blog contents if they are not a paid member. My current way of doing this after trying everything is to listen in the onready event of the site and look for any paths (wixlocation path) where the parent is blog. Then I open a lightbox with the alert to be a paid member to view the content. The problem is that the user can click off the lightbox and it closes.
Is there a way to do this? Perhaps in wixcode show a box covering the entire page?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

If I would do this I would make a function in a backend code utility file which takes a user id and would check if they have access or not. Then in every page I would check that with the function and if they are not a paid user I would redirect them to a page informing them they have to pay to the page they tried to reach.

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I originally did this, however the customer wants to allow the users to see the blog summary but obscure the view. The idea is it encourages the user to subscribe to see the full content. Ideally I would like to only allow non-paid members to see just the blog summary. Is there any way in Wix code to show a box of full screen dimensions to grey out the background? Or anyway to stop the lightbox from closing?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi,
Note that there’s no integration of Wix Code with Wix Blog. Can you please send a screenshot to clarify which content you would like to everyone to see and which content you wish only some to view?
Moreover, please send us a like to the site so that we can have a look.

Thanks,
Tal.
