Help with database & Drop-downs

Hi folks, I’m new to this forum, not sure of etiquette, I would appreciate any help i can get.

  • I have a drop-down menu that is connected to a database

  • The database has Title, Description, Model, Images & Price fields. All fields have a value, only titles show in drop down box (which is what i want)My question is
    Can I?

  • have Price display somewhere with the associated drop-down selection
  • have the Price of different drop-down selection added to totals of other drop-down selections
    *same question as first, but with images displaying in another area on page

I can’t find an app that allows me to make a parts picker page.

Is a dropdown what you actually want as you can only display the one choice in the dropdown list.

You can connect a drop-down list items to a dataset to use the content of a field in a collection as the labels and values for your list items.

  • Label: The Label is the text the user sees when they make a selection.

  • Value: The Value is the data that gets stored in your collection.

Would displaying your dataset items in a repeater or a table so that you can display all of the dataset fields on your page be a better option for you?

Which way you go with designing your site is your own choice.

  • Basic dropdown list choice like you have on your website currently;

  • Simple menus that when clicked on bring up a collapsed list of computer parts which the user can select with a simple checkbox or radio button selection;

  • Multistage forms or slideshows where the user can choose computer parts for their configuration.

All these options can be included with a total that can be changed when things get added etc.

Just note that this Wix Corvid forum will try to help you through your site and give you examples of code or tutorials that you can use to make your site.

However, it will not help you make your site and code it for you, if you are looking down that path then please have a look at Wix Arena .
