Hide video player while video loads to page

Anybody know how to hide the black background of a “video player” while the page + video (via Vimeo) loads? when you first enter the page?

Right now, the video player is already visible when you enter the page–so there’s just a black box for a 1-2 seconds before the vimeo video link loads into the player.

I’d be ok with a color bkgd or a static image in it’s place before that video loads.

Thanks for your help / suggestions !!

(I’ve tried using a delayed fade animation on the video player, but that didn’t work!)
