I have a horizontal menu on my header with 6 different items, each with a hover over drop down menu.
I have some site pages in these drop down menus that overlap categories and need to appear in 3-4 of the items drop downs but I can only add one copy of the site page into the menu so it only appears under one item.
So far the only way that I have managed to get multiples is by duplicating the site pages but this has made Wix very laggy and hard to work with.
Is there an easier way to do this? Thank you for the help.
You should be able to add a ‘Link’ to the menu instead of a direct page item (at least you can using Wix Studio). These will operate like alias’ pointing to the one single page of content (you def don’t want multiple actual pages with same/similar content). So you would probably have one main menu item be a standard ‘Main Pages’ type of link to the page, and the rest would just be ‘Links’ pointing to that same URL (be sure to open in same window).
Only the ‘Main Pages’ menu item will behave like a menu item in the sense of being styled as you set for ‘Current Page’, as it will be the actual ‘current page’ (the others are just alias’ to it). This might be more noticeable in mobile menus, as it would be showing in its opened section and maybe not the section the alias someone clicked was in, and again styled as you set for ‘current page’.
Whether this will ultimately be intuitive to the end user or good UX design is another topic. But suppose as long as it’s used sparingly, it might be OK.
