How can you make changes to all h1, h2, p etc.?

Changes I make in the Theme panel are not rendered across the site. Do I have to modify each instance individually?
Thank you

Best practice is to establish your theme before starting design, but if made after the site has been designed or you are changing the them, then you have a new set of rules.

Typically, all selectors will change with the update to the Theme Panel unless modifications were to their style uniquely on an instance by instance basis. If you see an * next to the selectors type (i.e. H1*) indicates it was modified or never set to begin with, and these will not be affected site wide by making changes to Theme Panel.

So, establishing the typical selectors and staying true to the theme has allowed me to make site-wide changes effectively.

Hi iamteejay

Many thanks for your quick answer.

So if I understand correctly, once a change, for example, is made to a paragraph line height, or text scale is applied to an item, that item will no longer respond to changes made in the theme settings (the ‘span’ properties will continue to override the ‘class’ properties)?

And since text scale and line height cannot be applied in the theme settings then applying either of those could mean headaches later on if changes are requested, right?

Thanks again.

Regarding the tect themes, I would often have found it useful to have this:

  • a site-wide “override” option
  • size range per theme (the lack of this is really annoying since one has to (re-) change manually each and every single paragraph to define or change min/max values.

Hi Till,

Having done a bit more digging, it seems that 9th on the “New & Coming Soon” list is “Bulk Design of Elements” (https://www.editorx.com/features/coming-soon).

Perhaps that will make our lives easier
