So, as we all know it is possible to choose a specific product type with either a drop-down list or the color-buttons.
But is it possible to have two ordinary button for choose two different product types?
i.e. I’m selling a jigsaw blade. So when the costumer picks the product “jigsaw-blades” he should then have two buttons saying “Wood” and “Metal” insted of the drop-down menu.
Is this possible?

Do you have more than one wood blade product and more than one metal blade product. This seems to be a question about how you have defined your products and categorized them.
Basically a blade for wood is one product and a blade for metal is another product. So you may simplify your problem by taking this approach.
If you have many of each then you could also consider using collections.

Well I actually want to make the jigsaw blade as a major produkt collection and then the costumer has to be able to choose the different option with buttons instead of the current drop-down menus, kinda like this:
