Yes for sure, this and other functions of enhancement, design and effects with regard to menu are still missing in the Beta version.
I just did a test here and I did not find a solution to the problem presented by the noble colleague. Let’s wait and see if the product engineers understand and improve the menu issue.

Hi I would also like to be able to change the text height, and letter spacing in the vertical menu. Is this possible?
as for the text height I can understand, that you mean font size, is this correct? if so, you can do this in Design Setting, once the vertical menu is selected:
as for the letter spacing it got no such feature, I will forward this suggestions to the relevant team, along with this, you can try building custom menu element with linked textboxes elements
