How to set Roles (NOT BADGES) of Members through Site?

These days I am understanding Backend functions through API references articles .

I was wondering as to the question states -
How to set (Not Get) Roles (N OT BADGES) of Members through Site?

I found the way to approve member, block member, etc.
I hope I will found this also.
