Influx of spam website visits from weird countries?

I don’t know if this is a coincidence or totally unrelated, but I just got through submitting a number of pages to Google for indexing, and not even 5 to 10 minutes later, I started getting a HUGE influx of visitors from Tbilisi, TB, Georgia (Georgia the country, not the state). It got up to 24 visitors at one point. It’s been going on the last almost 20 minutes or so. Super weird, and that’s never happened before. I’ve tried finding some answers on Google, because that’s a little un-nerving— I didn’t want my site to be at risk for spam somehow. The only thing I can find on Google is that there are some bots that crawl your site but normally the good bots go undetected, so I don’t know if that was just standard after I submitted those pages for indexing, or if it really was spam… There isn’t much info online, but the info I do see, asifr from what I just said, is that it could be spam/bad bots. Anyone else ever deal with something like this before, and how did you stop it?
