Hello all,
I was curious as to if you’ve found a work around or an app that can be manipulated as a membership directory. I create many sites for Chambers and I am finding that this is my most requested feature. HELP!
Hi!
Super interesting question.
This might be possible using Code. I’m curious to see if anyone has already created something like this using Code or any other app.
Good day! Like @sheyla mentioned, this might be possible using Wix Code.
You can visit the following post on the Code Forum and use it as a resource!
Hello @stevenjose ,
It seems as though the thread you linked is referring to the membership login. I am talking about some way to create a clickable list for a membership directory. Something similar to this model, https://business.lakelandchamber.com/list
@weboratorwh You can accomplish this using Wix Code. You would need to create a database collection, add a few columns such as: Name, URL link, Description. Then you would connect your database collection to a repeater so that your entire collection appears in a list format.
This is super easy to accomplish and requires zero background in coding. You can look up some videos on YouTube for the basics on how to create a database collection.
@nayeli dropping that knowledge! Love it.
@nayeli Thanks, this clears up the list issue. I wish there was a way to allow viewers to filter or choose a certain category like a normal chamber directory would allow.
@weboratorwh That is also fairly simple to do. I have several Wix Code tutorials on creating search functions. You should give it a try.
I was able to create a directory using a database/repeater and a form. I was also able to make the form in the member area on a private page, which is great. Theoretically a member can add and edit their listing. I am able to get it to work perfectly for myself, but no one else can use it?? HELP! Everything is set to Member Generated Content and Read-Write. The submit button is grayed out for others.
Did you link it to the Member/sPrivateMembersData collection? They are probably grayed out because of the permissions of the database you connected the dataset to.
Hi there! Natalia from MemberSpace here.
Have you checked out MemberSpace ? We’re a third-party tool that offers complementary services to fit more complex membership site needs. Suppose you would like to have a member directory that dynamically updates whenever you gain/lose members (via MemberSpace). In that case, you can integrate our platform directly with Community Box and choose what information from your member’s profiles is shown in the directory (e.g., image, name, email, custom sign-up fields like social media handle or location, etc.).
Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll be happy to clarify
You and your site members can now choose what information is displayed on your profile page. I added First, Last, Phone, email and address for my HOA site. This was a feature request that was just released. See here Site Members: Customizing Your Member Profile Fields | Help Center | Wix.com
