My project is a month from launching and I need to do a presentation soon. I need some simple data to inform the audience, I hope the Wix team is willing to provide it:
where is database running (I believe it is on Amazon S3, but not sure)
what type of DB (Mango?)
And a question that was asked recently to which I have no answer to:
I believe Wix is an Israeli company. If so, does data stored in DB still fall under the US Digital Millennium Act?
I would appreciate any help here, it looks kind of silly if I cannot provide this info.

so - we are currently running on Amazon and Google cloud infrastructures.
and yes, our DB infra is based on Mongo.
But, and this is important, these are what we refer to as “implementation details”. we are free to change this at any time.
part of the appeal of wix-code is that this is transparent to the end-user - wix takes care of all these “under-the-hood” aspects of a software system.
as for the legal aspects of data storage, I’ll have our legal department formulate an answer in “legaleze” but, and again this is important, the data managed by your site or application is your responsibility. we do not read that data, share it, or validate that it complies with any data storage regulations.
and here’s the response from legal:

again, you as the site owner need to be responsible for the removal of any problematic content.
you can do this via the editor for static content, or through the content manager for dynamic content.
of course, wix support is always there to help if needed.
Just to get an idea about the needs that Wix Code has filled for you (and maybe have your site examined a bit) I’d love to get a link to your presentation and some brief summary of what you’re going to talk about when you’re presenting the project.
