Nested Comments on Blog Posts

Question:
Is there a way to show nested comments on a blog entry? Also, entries on the first level of blog comments appear truncated. Or maybe we’re using Blogs in the wrong way and should be using the Forums feature instead?

What are you trying to achieve:
We are using Blogs as a discussion area. We post a topic to a blog, and then let people comment on the blog post. However, 1) comments get truncated if they’re too long. 2) There is no way to show nested comments.

What have you already tried:
All comments are fully visible by the site owner, so we know they’re there. It’s just that they cannot be seen by visitors to the site.

Additional information:
Should we be using Forums for this purpose instead?

This blog post shows 2 comments have been added. One of the comments is a reply to the first comment. That reply is hidden from view.

We found it. We had apparently changed the design of the blog button color to white and the text to black. But these two properties don’t behave the way we thought they did. Some buttons use the button color as the text color, and other buttons use black as the text color. So it’s hard to find a color scheme that works for all buttons in the blog view.
