Wix Stores is only Read Only. To add items you must use Wix Stores widget / app or use code (that is limited) based on the Wix API reference guide.

How are you accessing the store database? You can change databases from read only - here is a link: https://support.wix.com/en/article/changing-your-database-collection-permissions
