Hi all.

I have a site ([www.merlotembargo.com](http://www.merlotembargo.com)) with a page ([www.merlotembargo.com/events](http://www.merlotembargo.com/events)) dedicated to a subset of the main site. I want this sub-page and all associated pages with it to have different navigation than the main site. (application is my band - main site is focused on our original music, /events is focused on hiring us for private events. They need to be different.)

In the wix editor, we can’t have two headers. So I’ve created a fake “header” for the /events side of things. Basically, all the pages under /events are header and footer-less, and I’ve just added a top menu on these pages.

On the desktop site, it all looks great and works fine. However, on the mobile site, my substitute navigation menu doesn’t appear at all. Is there a way I can force it to appear?

(I’m working in the regular web Wix Editor.)

Thanks!
Geoff

sometimes the section may be hidden on the mobile breakpoint.

### Check if it’s hidden

1. Switch to **Mobile View**
2. Click **Layers panel (bottom left)**
3. Find your custom menu / strip / container
4. If you see a crossed-eye icon → it’s hidden
→ Click it to **Show on Mobile**

Hmm, i see it in the layers when I’m viewing the desktop site, but not in the mobile:

Any ideas?

You can try creating a mobile-specific menu that is hidden on the desktop for this page. Another Approach is to add a Button in the mobile editor(only) and a lightbox with your event-specific menu. When visitors click the button, it opens the lightbox, creating a pseudo menu. You can hide the button in the desktop editor.

Down for either of those options, V.

I tried adding a second hamburger menu on a temp page to test it - [www.merlotembargo.com/copy-of-events](http://www.merlotembargo.com/copy-of-events)

You can see the menu in the desktop site, but when I switch to mobile, it isn’t available in the layers; it just dissapears like the horizontal menu earlier. Is there a mobile specific menu I should be using?

Go to the mobile editor and add the menu there just like you did in the desktop editor. 🙂

well, i wish it were that easy lol - I don’t see any menu options in the mobile editor 😃

Nonetheless, I made some fake navigation menus with simple text and links in the mobile editor. Not very slick, but it’ll work fine for now.

I’m guessing this is a follow on from the topic where we faked the 2 headers 😅

> Hi all - I have a header with a horizontal menu on my main site. ([merlotembargo.com](http://merlotembargo.com)) I would like a handful of the pages in the site to use a different horizontal menu. I understand that multiple headers is not possible in wix, so I made those particular pages without header/footer, then added a section at the top with a second horizontal menu. However, it seems I can’t make this menu sticky, and that’s also a wix limitation. So, i’m looking for creative ways around these limits - ultimatel…

This is perhaps the downside to the approach - since the mobile site only supports one menu component.

If it’s a hidden element and you’re expecting to see it, take a look at the `eye` icon on the left side of your screenshot. Any hidden elements will be tucked away there, and you can re-enable them

yeah, exacly it, Noah. The normal mobile site ([merlotembargo.com](http://merlotembargo.com)) works fine with the embedded navigation, switches to a nice slick hamburger menu in mobile view.

The /events section (ie, all of the pages in which I’ve set up without headers, using the alternate navigation menus) though, won’t seem to grab those menus from and populate in the mobile view. I have to manually add the elements in the mobile editor, and as you suggested, perhaps the fact that I’ve already used the main navigation menu elsewhere, is why the other menus don’t appear in the mobile editor options for which elements I can add.

So i faked it with text/links in the top sections of those pages. Not slick. In fact, pretty clunky compared to the nice navigation in the mobile view on the header pages, but it works. One major downside is that i need to update all pages individually if I ever change it. :-/
