Nothing but problems

This is getting frustrating. So many bugs and glitches have been occuring the past few weeks with editor x.

I can’t add interactions or work with repeaters without massive issues in the layers panel, etc.

I can’t select elements from the layers panel. I can’t modify elements in repeaters.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It’s happening across multiple sites so it can’t just be a weird bug with the site.

Hey @corey , thanks for reporting this issue.
Could you please share your website’s URL?
Our dev team will investigating this, and we’ll update ASAP.
Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Agree 100%. This is getting far beyond frustrating. Working with Editor X is a mess. It’s a devastating time (ergo money) consuming bottleneck in the building process.

No matter what you want to do, there is a roadblock in your way.

Either there are bugs

  • panels are hiding behind the content; panel functions don’t work, etc …
  • or, changes don’t get saved, and you have to do them again, and again, and again
  • or, you … imagine a loooooong list here

Or you run into limitations and restrictions like,

  • you can’t change the horrible kerning of button text!?
  • you can’t add icons to buttons!?
  • you can’t store Iframe or HTML code in the content manager!?
  • you can’t use content manager content as variables inline in text!?
  • you can’t use classes to maintain your design system properly!?
  • you have no access to ccs!?
  • or you … imagine a loooooong list here

The whole process is about figuring out dirty workarounds, reading the forum, and frustrated decreasing your goals! The technical debt (because of the workarounds everywhere) and UX debt (because of the limitations) you run into is beyond acceptable. Even before you are close to launching your site.

The functionality in some areas is less in than the Wix Editor. AND NO, answering on literally everything, Oh, YOU CAN’T DO THIS with Editor X, but you can do this with Velo is NOT ENOUGH. Of course, it’s possible with JavaScript. You can do everything with JS. But working with JS is not why the vast majority has chosen Editor X. I mean, what’s the purpose and positioning of Editor X? Is it just an expensive and fancy way to deliver work to Velo developers? I guess no.

At the moment, the positioning it’s like this.

Wix Editor…Editor X…Velo

The improvement without using Velo is not worth the money. Editor X has, with some goodwill, an early beta status.

Sorry for the rant; but the decision to go with Editor X instead of Webflow, like we did in the past, already cost us too much money.

I know, the support and forum staff gets all the heat and I’m sorry for this, but there needs to be a major improvement on multiply levels. And there needs to be a dialogue with the responsible HEAD OF PRODUCT for Editor X, or however the position/role is called at Wix. Something like an AQ Session.
