You can now directly manage your Partner Coupons if you bought them from the sales team. Wooo!
How do you buy coupons??
If you select “partner deals” in your partner dashboard you’ll see an option to get in touch with the team that you can purchase bulk plans from
Will the bulk plans be available to use for annual renewals or just new sites?
Scott, you can’t apply coupons to premium plan renewals. In that particular case, you should cancel the automatic renewal on the existing plan that’s about to renew and then upgrade it with a coupon code once the plan expires.
Cool! How about our free site?? I’m on stand by to accept online payments
Why do we have to buy bulk? As partners, in my opinion, we should have discounted plans just in general.
This is optional - you can just use the monthly discount codes instead if you’d like. The bulk plans tend to have a much more steep discount. It’s up to you
Why are we forced to buy in bulk with our own money??? It’s unfair to those who can’t afford hundreds of dollars to buy 3 or more plans
As I mentioned, this is optional. You are not being forced to buy anything. You can choose to buy plans using the monthly discount codes that are posted on the forum every month or just buy them regularly. You decide how you want to purchase your upgrades.
Sorry that was rude. My apologies
:-/
@geigerdesigns no worries, just teasing you. It’s all good!
@sheyla My concern is that when the premium plan expires, the domain name would no longer be attached either…so my clients site could be down for a period of time?
@sheyla Are you able to provide me with the direct email please, When I click on “contact us” its the phone icon, however my Mail acct on my laptop tries to open and I dont have that set up thank you
@scottb the transition is instant. The entire flow of purchasing a plan takes less than 2 minutes - once you upgrade the site again, the domain will automatically re-attach.
Sure! It’s partnercommunitydeals@wix.com
@sheyla Thanks again Sheyla for helping out. So my concern with this process is that the plan actually has to expire before we can manually renew with the coupon code. Can you address a few questions/concerns with that?
-
If the plan has to expire first, the website will no longer be accessible through the domain name - thus for a period of time (even if it is a few hours) my clients website would be “down”.
-
When a plan is about to expire, is there a certain time or timezone where that happens? So is it on midnight of the expiry date? Midnight in which timezone? Do I need to actively watch the time to manually renew and use the code?
-
Could you review with your Wix team if there would be a way to have Partners use the codes on automatic renewals instead of the complicated work around?
As others have mentioned, Wix is a more costly platform and as much as I love it, it can be hard to move clients over based on the annual hosting/platform costs. It would be great if Partners could just get discounted annual renewal rates based on the number of premium plans or something of that nature, instead of always hounding Wix for coupon codes and trying to make them work. Just a suggestion.
Like I said, I love Wix and am trying to move most of my clients over.
Thanks for your consideration.
Downtime would be the time it takes to upgrade the site, so just a few minutes. To subvert this, you can assign the plan that is about to expire to a duplicate or free site and then just upgrade the intended site early. This way, you don’t have to worry about timezones.
As for 3, this is definitely feedback I can pass along - I appreciate you bringing it up
