Online Store without being an online store??

I have a client who sells playground equipment. Rather than having an online store with set prices they prefer to speak to the customer and negotiate a quotation for the equipment required. Its a rather bespoke service hence the need to perform business this way.

What they require is the functions of an online store (products, categories, search functions, details etc) and most importantly a wish list. The idea of a wish list is that customers can select their favourite products which get added to a list and then once they have completed their list they can submit the list via email alongside a contact us form in which my client will then respond to them with prices.

Is this possible via Wix and has anybody accomplished it?

A store without store functionality sounds wild, but what you describe makes sense!

We’ve had to do something similar, where a client wanted the users to be able to find the items, check the prices, add them to a cart and checkout by email or whatsapp, but not using a store.

We built alot of custom code for the email/whatsapp features, as well as having to build a custom cart, because you could not (and still can’t) access the Wix Stores cart. So is it possible? Most definitely. We built it on top of the wix stores databases and API.

I’ve done something similar with www.inflatafunvi.ca
They said the exact same thing your client said, where they wanted to know what the potential customer would want to rent but needed to speak over the phone to complete the order because sometimes certain units weren’t available or the rental time needed to be adjusted etc.
The functionality is that the visitor scrolls through the website to see the units and add-ons and whatnot and then heads to the booking page to complete their order, but w/o paying.
Then my client calls/emails them and finalizes the transaction.

My apologies for the website colors… He insisted on them :slight_smile:
