If you have the partner dashboard - which I assume you do, you simply need to activate the betas. It’s a toggle switch. 
As far as custom member area, it’s definitely doable. When you start getting into this level of customization it because exponentially more difficult and support may not be able to keep up. There are many videos online of how to do it. Sadly, most are in English.
