Performance tips that worked for me

Hey there
I just wanted to share a video where I increased my page from around 3 secs down to just about 1 sec. The performance grade is great and the page loads extremely quick. I have no idea on the techniques I use if they are in some way supported and I have not checked them with the team at Wix.

But for my site they really did the trick. You can watch if you want  Happy coding.

Wow – Not saying anything ground-breaking here, but speed is just so important. This is great and results are super impressive. Can you elaborate on the meta tags? I was confused on why you have dates in there, like Mon 30 Aug 2018 and todays date? Do we need to change these out daily or what?

I also found this API: TinyPNG – API Reference. Which could be used to proactively take in PNG’s, compress them, then store them in a dataset to call later? That might help people who are actively pulling in new images to their site

The reason I use dates instead of some dynamic things is just lack of knowledge. I don’t update that page that often so in the sample it does not matter. I think you can add like a period expire after 2 days and so on. Read on Mozilla about HEADERS for CACHE.

So, some of these tips helped, but not quite to the same impact you encountered Andres. When I do pingdom test, I am grading out at 33, a big fat F on “Combine External Javascript”. Then it says "
There are 11 JavaScript files served from static.parastorage.com. They should be combined into as few files as possible."

Do you know if this is something we can control?

I think this would allow you to not have to update the dates

Hi, am I able to speed mine up at all ?

Thanks

Just got a message on wixshow.com from a user you went from c65 to A94 after doing this, that’s a huge difference.

Wooooow really fast!!! Can I have the first strip? For cache? Really thank you man, it’s what i need

The original article was written by Andreas, who since then has stopped doing development in Wix and closed all his Wix-related web sites. Because asking questions about it is therefore no longer relevant, I’m closing this post.
