I’m not sure if this is a bug, or I’m missing a seting, but my pro gallery wants to put images on the bottom row on the right rather than on the left, then fills in from the left (so there’s a gap in the bottom row if it isn’t full). I checked the gallery direction, and it’s set to left to right. If I swap it to right to left, it puts the images on the left (but will still have a gap in the bottom row if the row isn’t full). This only seems to be an issue on the computer view. Thumbnails are in the correct order in the tablet view.

In case anyone needs it, here’s the pages on my site where it’s not working (currently set as left to right):
https://susanvandenhende.editorx.io/portfolio/oh-dividers
https://susanvandenhende.editorx.io/portfolio/fl-k-1
may I ask you to try using Grid layout instead of Masonry and Publish the site?
Well, that does solve the odd layout issue, but the spacing between items is a bit wonky now.
On this page, I have slightly more space between rows than I do between the columns: https://susanvandenhende.editorx.io/portfolio/oh-dividers
And on this page, I have a whole lot more space between columns than I do between rows: https://susanvandenhende.editorx.io/portfolio/fl-k-1
I think the smaller spacing is pulling from the spacing I’m entering in the grid settings. I don’t know why it’s not affecting both rows and columns though, or why it’s acting different on each page.
this is expected, when you are using fit mode, instead try crop and appropriate image ratio:
That did the trick. Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling with this for ages.
Follow up question- what would I do if I had different sized images? I can’t have the images cropped for what I’m doing, and while my portfolio images are final for now, I will likely run into this issue in the future on a page where the images are different sizes and I don’t have enough to fill the row (to make the masonry grid work).
