Redirect members after custom sign up

@russian-dima - that’s not what’s needed.

Wix set up a membership plug in, with a unique “member page”.

Asking with that, Wix created both a “sign up” and a “sign in” portal.

Therefore, it’s only logical that when a new member, or a returning member “signs up” or “logs in”, that they should be directed “somewhere”, “anywhere”…

As the page admin, I should therefore be able to choose where I would like to redirect users based on “sign up” or “log in”.

Wix has a protocol for ALL other apps, that they utilize a similar settings layout and functionality. With ALL other Wix apps, the app includes a link options icon. This icon lets the website builder, decide where they would like to redirect user, after the user has taken an action and selected the button.

I’m this case, the button DOES NOT follow protocol.

There are a ton of “work arounds”… But, I lack the skill and the training to implement a code, work around.

I don’t get why Wix would have let this app into their platform, if it obviously doesn’t follow protocol.

Thoughts?

@joseph72670 I spent some time on Wix Chat today about this very issue. The “Wix Pricing Plan” team said that they are “collecting data about this feature update” and will consider it for a future upgrade. I told him to put my name in that data hat.

In the meantime, I’m looking into seeing if the WHOLE pricing plan setup (sign up/login/payment/send to custom url when done) can be hand coded. I don’t have time to wait for Wix to upgrade this feature (which could take months if they decide to do it).

@joseph72670
Sorry i refered to the very first post opened in 2019…

And it is aleays better to describe your own situation in an own post. So if you need something from this post, you alwys can refer to it (link).
But that’s not a big deal. It can also be disscussed here.

@rc-powers
I 100% agree!!! That’s what I’m searching for today! Why not just give us a LINK that we can attach to a button that sends them through the SIGN UP/LOGIN + PAYMENT process and then get to choose where they get sent after they sign up? Why on earth have a sign-up for members that sends the members (AFTER PAYING AND SIGNING UP) to the homepage? Why not send them to the paid content or where we choose?

Would be good to see all the steps, until the issue occurs.

  1. Where do you start?
  2. Which steps are done?
  3. Which elements are used?
  4. How is the whole login-process/flow in detail?
  5. Perhaps some screenhots, so i can follow the steps to understand the issue in more detail.

I can’t tell you that i can solve it 100%, but i could try to solve the issue.
I already could integrate a lot of features into my own CUSTOM-LOGIN-SYSTEM…

You can take a look at it here… and also do some testing (attention → still under developement → not everything works yet).

Found your post Shan…

Thanks for check that out @russian-dima !

The process I’m dealing with is just the normal process that the Wix Pricing Plan takes you through, and that image is the end of the process.

There’s 2 things I’m trying to solve:

  1. The least amount of clicks for a person to sign up for membership and pay for subscription.
    WHY: Every extra click, you start losing sales.

  2. Be able to send them directly to the paid protected page that they signed up for after they purchase.
    WHY: It really really confuses people to pay for something and get sent back to the beginning. I’ve found that people will literally keep paying for your product over and over because they can’t reach the product immediately. They’ll think it’s broken. So sending them to the homepage is a really great way to get a ton of bad-sales that you now need to refund, and a lot of emails from confused customers.

So that’s what I’m trying to solve.

@rc-powers
Ok, tried to use Pricing-Plans, but therefore i need to go trough a process which forces me to create some additional stuff, what i do not want to do.
Therefore i can’t test it (can’t inspect the code-behaviour and results of the Pricing-Plan-APP).

I do not like APPs, especialy which tries to force me to do something!
So, if you trust me, you can invite me to your own PROJECT, so i can investigate the problem.

Or you create a TEST-AREA (DEMO-VERSION) where i can take a look on, to see if there is a possibility to achieve your aim.

@russian-dima Absolutely. Email me (email is in my profile). I can set you up on our back-up site which is where I’m building the membership.
