Requiring a date to be selected

Good morning,

I am looking for help on requiring a date to be selected in the cart page before passing the checkout button. I have entered the codes I have found but it doesnt seem to work. The help centre told me I need a custom code but I still do not understand why as there is codes provided for this function … what I am missing? Has anyone dealt with this?

I see. So this implementation won’t work without creating a completely custom checkout page - meaning you will design and code it from scratch. I have taken a look through the Wix-Stores API docs and I"m not seeing a way to intercept the checkout process from the default checkout page.

There is a feature request to allow customization to this page through code which has made it through the voting stage but has not yet through priority to the dev team so it may still be a bit

Some ideas for you to think about:

In the articles for Wix Stores there are ways to turn off/on custom fields and make them mandatory from the dashboard with no code. There is not a specific date field, but take a look and see if you think anything else will work for you.

Customizing the checkout page

Another idea could be that you could customize the email confirmation to your customer and let them know that they will need to provide an event date to secure their order and provide a link for them to do so. Also no code

The last idea, is that you would have to design and develop the checkout experience yourself. If you are not used to writing code this will be the most difficult route but would give you the most control over what the pages look like. If you want to do this but do not feel you are able to attempt it, you can hire a Velo developer through the Marketplace
