This is more of a warning than a question:
The Rich Text Box has an issue which appeared recently and broke my site.
A feature of the Rich Text Box is that it automatically switches the cursor from a ‘selection’ cursor to a ‘text’ cursor when the cursor is over the box. Recently the area in which the cursor switches changed to be larger than the text box. Specifically it extends around an inch below the box.
In my case the added area covered the CLOSE button in a lightbox. When this happens the CLOSE button cannot be clicked, and the lightbox will not close. The work around was to increase the space beneath the the text box to exclude critical elements.
A question I do have is: Is this the best way to report bugs to the development team? Can anyone tell me how to do that properly?
@bill As I mentioned in my previous post, just put the credentials in a backend file since it can’t be seen by anybody (except Wix employees). You can put them in the first file listed and I’ll then know where to find them.
@yisrael-wix I have placed the login credentials for a test member in such a file as you have suggested. Can you continue investigating this issue, please?
Yisreal, I have other similar issues also. Is this the best way to get help with them?
@yisrael-wix Select Store Products in the menu in the login area.
Select any product in the dropdown beneath Betta Artista’s name
Select the Product Description button
Notice the space between the test box and the Close button.
If I close up that space, the Close button will be obscured by the text box and not work.
@yisrael-wix Thank you! I have several other problems that appeared at the same time this one did. They are more serious because I have not found work arounds. I will test to see if they have disappeared also.
One issue was that wixUsers.logout() stopped working. It cause the login/logout feature to go into a loop. So I had comment out wixUsers.logout() in my code and it stopped, but no one could logout anymore. I just put it back in and it works fine now.
Another issue was that if I opened the Profiles page from the menu in the login area it came up showing elements that are supposed to be hidden, but if I opened it from the tabs (buttons) I have at the top of all my member pages it comes up fine. That too has stopped happening.
Yisreal, I don’t understand how Wix could release an update with such serious bugs, and there was no warning or notification. I have been going crazy with all these problems with my live site! Is there something I should be subscribed to that notifies customer/programmers of up-coming changes like the performance release? I did not know about it, but I suspected that all my issues came from a Wix update. I am so frustrated with Wix I could scream!
