A client reached out to me to create a website where people who are sick can create a account and get paired up with someone else that is as well so they can pray for each other.

Have you considered utilizing members, private forums and groups to help people connect with similar ailments? You will need to make sure you don’t violate any HIPAA regulations.
I was thinking of adding a community group later on.
but the main priority is they want to automatically get paired with someone else like the website example I showed.
If I am a member and I sign in, I have state my condition, but it is not something you are allowed to have on my member profile, that may violate HIPAA regulations. So, to ID what the member has or MIGHT have, that is what the private forums and groups would allow members to join and then engage with others of the same disease, where they would not just see other members there, but maybe even offer support, resources and other tools to help them cope. To pair another off, could be suggested on the site as a tool, but then allow the members to choose and select in those environment, where this is information will be off site and private.
I understand, but they wont be stating there condition this website wont store anything but there name and the name of the person thy are praying for
Oh, I see. Then have a dataset collection for those who need praying. LIST them and then allow for a button to have another leave a prayer with a “Leave a Prayer”. This would take them to the ITEM (individual’s detail) with a form below where someone will leave their email and their prayer for them using an input form which content gets dropped into its own dataset collection which is then referenced to the “individuals” dataset collection.
That’s the gists of it and there are a lot of details to mind.
I recommend requiring membership for those leaving prayers for moderation an being able to connect with other members purposes.
