Set Default Open State of Site Editor

Question:
How do we set the default opening state of a site when editing?

What are you trying to achieve:
Our site always defaults to opening in Mobile view with the Dev mode section expanded. I thought that it might retain the state it was in when last published and closed, but doesn’t seem to. It’s a nuisance for us to have to always switch back to Desktop view and close the Dev section when first opening the site to edit, but may be confusing for the client if same happens for them.

Thanks for the response. I don’t think we’ll be seeking developer assistance for this, but thanks for the tip.

This seems much more like a default Wix Studio feature and is either a bug, or there’s a settings somewhere we’re missing.

  • Anyone else have experience with resetting the default opening state to be Desktop (and preferably without Dev section expanded)?

On the off chance anyone finds this having a similar experience with the editor opening to mobile view, in our case it was because our tablet/desktop breakpoint was set to less than 1000px. We set it to 900px and our top-level ‘Desktop’ view is then labeled ‘Tablet’ (a 2nd Tablet view). But it does still say ‘Primary’ when hovered and behaves correctly in all other ways. It just causes the editor to open in the smallest ‘Mobile’ view for some reason.

We’ve filed this as a bug with Wix support and will see if anything comes of it…
