# Slideshow and Database Collections

Hi there,  
I want to connect a slideshow to my collection for display photos. I read the API [https://www.wix.com/code/reference/$w.Slideshow.html](https://www.wix.com/code/reference/$w.Slideshow.html), but I did not get an answer. It is possible?

Hi Eugene,

A slideshow element in Wix is a layout element that allows you to design different slides with different content elements. Think of it as a multi-box, such that you can design each box individually in the editor. As such, it is not the tool to show pictures.

If I understand you right, you are looking to show a slideshow gallery of photos, right? You should be looking at using a Gallery with a slideshow look, in this case. A Gallery you can both connect (via a dataset) to the database or set the .items property to show your images.

Hi Yoav, thanks. Yes, I just wanted to use the slideshow element, other galleries are not quite suitable, because they do not allow using non-standard fonts.

To connect a slideshow to the collection, there is definitely no possibility with the help of the code? If we can switch slides, then we can somehow bind them to the collection?

You can do so with coding, not binding to a dataset. But even then, it will be limited.

We are working now of a feature that we hope will answer your need - I cannot give an ETA, but I only share it will be coming.
